Mixed Media on Claybord

  • Nevada Art Museum, E.L. Cord Museum School 160 West Liberty Street Reno, NV, 89501 United States (map)

Thursdays, March 9 - 23 / 5:30 - 8:30 pm

Clayboard is a fabulous product for playful explorations and dramatic abstract work. The thin layer of bisque-fired clay is resistant to build-up and wiping away, while also giving you a surface to carve into. In this three-week class, we will dive deep into all the possibilities for the substrate. Inks, collage, image transfers, carving, pastels, stenciling, masking, and stamping will all be used. A dremel tool will also be used to explore various ways to add texture to the panels. Students will complete 3-4 pieces, which will be wired for hanging at the end.  All materials are provided for this class.
